Draw The Friends Wallpaper – Part 2

At the Part 1, you learned to draw the grass background. In this part, you are going to learn to make the cool beetles and water drops.
Ok Let’s get started!


Step 1
Create new groud, tittle it “beetle” and put it at the top of all the layers. I draw the beetle at here.
Follow the details as show below.
Step 2
Add light for the beetle ‘s wings
Step 3
Add small black circles to beetle ‘s wings.
Step 4
Add shadow for the wings.
Step 5
Draw white line with new layer
Step 6
Change line ‘s Blending Mode to Overlay. Then press Ctrl + J to duplicate line layer. Change line layer copy ‘s Blending Mode to Normal and reduce its Opacity to 30%.
Step 7
Add light for the beetle ‘s head.
Step 8
Make the eyes.
Step 9
Make the beetle ‘s anten with Pencil tool (1px).
Step 10
Draw the beetle ‘s legs with Brush tool setting as show below.
Step 11
Add the shadow to following as show below.
Step 12
Duplicate the beetle folder to once new. Press Ctrl + T, select Flip Horizontal to reverse it.
Step 13
Fix the new beetle ‘s shadow.
Step 14
Complete the beetles. Now, I go to make the water drops.
Open the water drop stock. Use Pen tool to copy the water drop and put it on the main document.
Step 15
Change its Blending Mode to Soft Light.
Step 16
Press Ctrl + J to duplicate water dop layer to new one. Change its Blending Mode to Screen and reduce Opacity to about 40%.
Step 17
Create new layer upon Screen water drop. While holding Ctrl down click on water drop layer to obtain its selection and fill black color for new layer.
Step 18
Press up and left 2 times for each. Recall selection of the water drop, press Ctrl + Shift + I to reverse the selection and press Delete. We have the small light at the bottom of water drop.
Step 19
Clear it using Eraser too seting as show below.
Step 20
Change its Blending Mode to Multiply and reduce Opacity to 40%.
Step 21
Create new on top water drop layers. While holding Ctrl down click on water drop layer to obtain its selection and fill yellow color (#fff600) for new layer. Then change its Blending Mode to Overlay and reduce Opacity to 15%.
Step 22
Add light for water drop.
Step 23
Merge all grass layers into one new grass group layer. At this layer, while holding Ctrl down click on water drop layer to obtain its selection. Press Ctrl + J to duplicate the selection into new layer. Change its Blending Mode to Overlay.
Step 24
Add the shadow for water drop using Brush tool with black color.
Step 25
Repeat the steps to making the water drop for another water drops.
